OVERVIEW: The Model BP and Model BH are PVC or CPVC basket strainers that are for PVC/CPVC systems and other chemical systems where PVC or CPVC components are appropriate. They have 150# flanges (BPF/BCF) or socket ends (BPS/BCS). EPDM or FKM O ring seals are available.
Baskets are in PVC or CPVC in standard 1/8" or 3/32" perforations, or optional stainless steel. Minimum 6:1 open area ratio through the strainer basket to corresponding piping system allows maximum straining capacity with minimal pressure loss.
The PVC has a maximum temperature of 140F and the CPVC of 200F. 1/2" -8" are 150psi, and 10"-12" 50psi, at 73F. Derating required for higher temperatures.
These models have a number of quality features. Our quick-release cap eliminates problems with seized threads, and provides quick, convenient access to the strainer. The minimum 6:1 open area ratio through the strainer basket allows maximum straining capacity with minimum pressure loss. The easy to read 0-160 psi pressure gauge is convenient for monitoring system pressure. And the 1/4" ball valve for simplified pressure release allows for maintenance and service of the system.
Note our BFF-Lined Strainers made from FRP and with a PVC or CPVC liner are also available. The BFF-Lined strainers can be a great choice for all PVC or CPVC wetted parts service in sizes over 4".
